A planning number you cannot reconcile is a number you cannot defend. This round of Planning work makes every figure add up and gives every figure a way to be checked.
A ledger, not a set of loose totals
Where capacity goes now shows each category of work as a ledger with Total / Done / Left columns:
- Committed — what you promised when you committed the interval. Done + Left always equals Committed.
- Scope growth — work added after you committed.
- Off-plan — work delivered that was never part of the plan.
- A Total row when there is more than one, and a Reserve row for categories sized by a formula.
So when someone asks "why did support eat a third of the sprint?", the answer is on one line: what was planned, what was added, and what came in unplanned.
Click any number to see the tasks behind it
Every non-zero figure in the Committed, Scope growth, Off-plan and Total rows, including "N of M Scope Items done", has a dashed underline. Click it to get the list of tasks behind it, with status, story points and a link to ClickUp. The list always totals to the number you clicked, and it uses the same people selection as the row. If you doubt a figure, you can check it in one click instead of rebuilding it in a spreadsheet.
Read the timeline one iteration at a time
The Company cadence strip above the Delivery timeline now works as a set of switches. Pick an iteration to see only the work expected to close in it. The current one is marked, and Show all brings everything back. The strip also names rows with no end date or ending outside the interval, so gaps in the plan are visible rather than hidden. Only the timeline narrows; the verdict, capacity split and commitment still describe the whole interval.
See at a glance what has slipped
- Rows are coloured by their ClickUp due date: red when overdue, amber when no working day is left.
- Filter chips — Overdue, Due now, Due later, No due date, Closed — show a count each and can be combined. Matching rows keep their parent chain visible.
- Copy check-in puts the slipped work on your clipboard as a message grouped by Scope Item, ready to paste into a channel. To have it sent on a schedule, use Delivery Alerts.
Scope Items say what they belong to
When you plan a Scope Item that sits halfway down a tree, its parent chain is now drawn above it and marked as not planned in this interval, so you can still see which milestone the work is part of. Those context rows are left out of every count, filter, forecast and alert.
One number moved
Because the ledger is built on what you committed, "planned" story points now mean the committed figure. Work closed before the interval started, and work added after you committed, no longer count as planned. They appear as their own rows instead. The planned share per category and any Reserve sized from it can therefore read lower than before. Your delivery did not change; the ledger now keeps the promise and the drift apart.
Planning is included on the Business and Enterprise plans.
