Work is a new page in the sidebar, right under Dashboard.

One clear hierarchy

Epics and milestones sit at the top, tasks go under them and subtasks under tasks. A task can link to a milestone without moving under it. Every item gets a short key such as ENG-42, and /work/ENG-42 opens it directly.

Built for the keyboard

  • C creates an item. J and K move through the list, and Enter opens one.
  • S, P, A and L change status, priority, assignees and labels.
  • X selects items, so you can change many at once.
  • ⌘K opens a command menu that searches all work by key, title or ClickUp id.
  • ? lists every shortcut.

Changes save as you make them, and most can be undone from the message that confirms them.

List or board

The list shows the hierarchy. Expand an epic to see its tasks, and a task to see its subtasks. The board shows a column for each status in your workflow, grouped by stage. Drag a card to change its status.

History that measures

Each item keeps a timeline of what changed and who changed it. It also shows how long the item spent in each status. For items imported from ClickUp, that includes the time ClickUp recorded before the import.

Import from ClickUp

Admins choose which team owns each ClickUp space and which ClickUp task types count as epics. The import then brings in:

  • every task, with its description, assignees, dates and status history
  • the comments of open work

It keeps the Epic → Task → Subtask shape. ClickUp lets items nest any way, so items that nested differently are placed to fit, and each one notes its original place in its history. Running the import again refreshes from ClickUp: anything edited or deleted in TheMetrics stays as you left it.

Your metrics do not change. They are still measured from your ClickUp data, as before.
